Kasbah Xaluca was built in 1995 using tradtional Moroccan materials and techniques to create an authentic kasbah-style hotel in the desert 5kms north of Erfoud. The imposing building offers a range of guest facilities and modern amenities ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Guest rooms and suites are spacious and all have air conditioning, ensuite bathroom, TV, phone, minibar and internet access. Rooms incorporate local materials, wood and textiles, to create a truly Moroccan feel.
The swimming pool is set in the large central courtyard, surrounded by swaying palm trees. Floodlit at night, this makes a magnificent centrepeice to the courtyard. There is a pool bar and a self service buffet. For more formal dining, the main restaurant serves a variety of international dishes in an elegant setting, while the Moroccan restaurant offers local cuisine including Harira soup, Pastilla de Pichon (pigeon pie), couscous and tagines. The lounge bar is a good place to mix with fellow guests and enjoy a game of pool, perhaps a board game or listen to music. It serves a broad range of drinks including cocktails and the local favourite, mint tea.
Other facilties include a hammam, jacuzzi, tennis court and shop selling traditonal Moroccan arts and crafts, clothes, souvenirs and postcards. The hotel can arrange excursions into the desert includings treks, quad bike rides, 4x4 vehicle and camel rides. The famous Merzouga sand dunes are only an hours drive away. Overnight stays in the desert can also be organised.
