About Dar Zitoune

  • Close Panel

Dar Zitoune is set at the foot of the High Atlas Mountains 3kms from the lovely walled market town of Taroudant. The 'House of Olives' is surrounded by 3 acres of gardens with citrus and olive groves, roses and palm trees, and exudes an air of calm and relaxation. There are sun terraces with loungers and a 20 metre swimming pool plus a heated jacuzzi pool. Dar Zitoune has its own spa, where guests can enjoy a range of treatments including hammam, massage, sauna, beauty treatments and manicures.

Accommodation is in 14 bungalows and 8 suites, all with ensuite bathrooms, spread through the gardens. All rooms are decorated in warm, welcoming colours and are equipped with all modern amenities including air conditioning, TV, phone, safe and internet access, whilst still retaining their traditional features. The hotel uses locally made berber rugs, art and furnitiure throughout.

Breakfast is a sumptuous affair and the homemade pattisseries are a speciality. Meals are served the elegant restaurant in the main house and feature a mixture of Moroccan and European cuisines. The cocktail bar is located in the vaulted basement and is the perfect place for a pre-dinner drink while enjoying some live Moroccan music.

Taroudant is just a 5 minute drive away and has some of the best preserved town walls in Morocco. The souks are well worth a visit, too. Staff can arrange visitis to villages and sites further afield, for trips between half a day to up to 2 days in duration, to berber villages, kasbahs and into the desert. Guests can trek in the High Atlas foothills and visit the palm groves of Tiout a short drive from the hotel.

Pricing guidelines for Morocco

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £200 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). We offer flights with Royal Air Maroc which has daily flights to Marrakech as well as good connections to other cities.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
