Le Suffren Hotel & Marina enjoys a prominent position in Port Louis, the Mauritian capital. Located on the popular Le Caudan Waterfront development, it has great views of the marina and bay. It is also within walking distance of a broad range of shops, cafes, restaurants and cinemas as well as being near the beach and the commercial areas of the city.

There are 100 rooms including 2 spacious suites. All are light and airy with modern decor. Rooms have ensuite bathrooms, are fully air conditioned and are equipped with phone, TV, internet access, minibar, tea and coffee making facilities and safe. There is 24 hour room service.

Guests have a choice of dining options. La Boussole overlooks the busy marina and serves local dishes as well as Mediterranean specialities. La Terrasse has views over the swimming pool, beach and marina. Here guests can dine al fresco and take time to watch the world go by. Spinnaker's Concept Bar is open during the day and late into the evening and is a popular meeting place and venue for watching live sports broadcasts. The adjoining courtyard is a great place to enjoy a quiet sundowner. In addition, guests are welcome to use the restaurants and bar of the sister hotel, Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel, nearby.

Le Suffen Hotel has a swimming pool, surrounded by palm and coconut trees, an ideal place to unwind after shopping or sightseeing. The facilities of the Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel are free to guests from Le Suffren and include a health centre, gym, hammam and beauty salon. Le Suffren is an ideal base from which to explore Port Louis. The hotel arranges a yacht cruise to northern beaches 4 times a week and a sunset harbour cruise twice a week, both free to guests. They can also arrange full day catamaran cruises, deep sea fishing and golf, which can be paid for locally.

Pricing guidelines for Mauritius

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £700 to £900 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Mauritius combines well with South Africa.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:

  £50 to £100

  £100 to £200

  £200 to £300

This is a business hotel, but the situation is great and I loved their boat taxi - easy access to the shops and town!  There were some issues with internet connection and the business centre, but for tourists that wouldn't be a problem.  The formal restaurant was quite pricey but the bar food was really superb.  We came back late from town and sat outside the bar (in the rain - our choice, it was still hot!) and enjoyed a selection of tapas style food for a very reasonable price. If you want to wander round the town and markets then this is an excellent choice of accommodation.
