About Ocean Villas

  • Close Panel

Ocean Villas is a small hotel on the edge of the town of Grand Baie with a selection of accommodation to suit couples, families and larger groups looking for a relaxing beach holiday. The hotel is set in tropical gardens which lead to a private beach, with sun loungers and parasols.

All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, 'phone, TV, internet access and ensuite bathrooms. The new garden and beach villas are perfect for couples, with 1 bedroom and modern bathroom, terrace and rattan armchairs. They are set in the garden and on the beach. For families and larger groups, the 3 and 4 bedroom bungalows (actually 2 and 3 storey buildings) are ideal, with spacious rooms. Most bedrooms have balconies with garden views. The bungalows also have kitchens for those who want to cook their own meals, although all meals can be taken in the hotel restaurant or in local restaurants in Grand Baie. Guests are also welcome to use the BBQ facilities. There is an exclusive villa, Le Nid d'Amour, set on the beach, perfect for honeymooners.

A generous buffet breakfast is served each morning, comprising cereals, pastries, fruit, pancakes, yoghurt and eggs, bacon and sausages. The restaurant is also open for snacks and lights meals and evening dinners. Candle lit dinners on the beach or in the gardens can be arranged. There is a separate bar, serving a selection of drinks and cocktails.

There is a fresh water swimming pool and a paddling pool, as well as the ocean for guests to enjoy. The sea is only a minute's walk from all rooms, through the gardens. The hotel also offers table tennis, bowls and beach volleyball. Divijg can be arraned at a nearby dive school and there is a gym guests can use locally (at own expense). The hotel offers free waterskiing, banana rides and snorkelling for guests 3 times a week. Bicycles can be hired and are a good way to explore the island. Grand Baie is just over a mile away can cen be reached on foot or by bus (these operate about every 10 minutes during the day). Grand Baie has a good selection of shops, restaurants, bars plus banks and ATMs. The hotel can also arrange a boat shuttle to Pereybere Beach via Grand Baie.

Pricing guidelines for Mauritius

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £700 to £900 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Mauritius combines well with South Africa.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
