L'Exil Lodge has a superb location - in the lush, unspoilt forest on the edge of the Combo wilderness reserve and with fabulous views across the hills and the Savanne River. This is a nature lover's paradise. Guests can take guided walks in the forest and by the river exploring the flora and fauna of the area. Mountain bikes are provided for further exploration. Whilst here guests can also visit the historic port of Mahebourg with its Naval Museum. In addition the lodge can arrange excursions to Gris Gris beach and to Rochester Waterfalls with the chance to swim beneath the refreshing falls.
Accommodation is in 10 well-designed chalets. All have ceiling fans, mosquito nets, tea and coffee making facilities, ensuite shower room and dining room. The balconies make the most of the stunning views across the forested valley and river. The peaceful setting is enhanced by the sound of the breeze in the trees and the tropical birdsong. Meals are served in the comfortable dining room with its cosy fireplace. There is a choice between full English and continental breakfast, an a la carte menu is offered at lunchtime and dinner is a hearty 3-course meal.
