About Mvuu Lodge

  • Close Panel

The elegant Mvuu Wilderness Lodge is situated along the banks of the Shire River in Liwonde National Park, Malawi's premier wildlife reserve.  Mvuu Lodge offers exclusive accommodation in eight spacious, luxurious tents, each with ensuite bathroom and private veranda set over the lagoon, for outstanding wildlife viewing.  Facilities include a dining room, bar and lounge area, and a pool.  Mvuu Lodge can accommodate 16 guests. Larger groups can also be accommodated in the nearby Mvuu Camp.

A wide range of animals can be seen in the area, including elephant, hippo, impala, waterbuck and sable antelope, and leopard, vervet monkeys, serval and large crocodiles are also common. Black rhino have recently been reintroduced from South Africa. There is also a rich birdlife along the Shire River, including the African Fish Eagle and Pel’s Fishing Owl.

The game viewing here is by vehicle, boat and on foot and the staff are really accommodating - they will set your daily safari schedule to suit your needs and can combine any or all of the activities, together with sundowners and bush meals to make for a memorable stay.

Pricing guidelines for Malawi

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Malawi combines well with Zambia.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
