Mvuu Camp consists of a mix of stone and canvas chalets and tents providing a total of 48 beds. There is a large thatched central dining and lounge area on the edge of the Shire River. There is also an outdoor 'boma' where dinners are sometimes served under the stars.
The 'Camp' is seperated from neighbouring Mvuu Lodge by a short distance of bushlands, the Lodge being more exclusive and smaller.
Mvuu Camp is family friendly and has a swimming pool and a range of activities. Game drives, bush walks and boat safaris are all offered here. There is a large education and conference centre.
Boat safaris are the highlight at Mvuu (Camp and Lodge) and birding is fantastic around Liwonde. Huge crocodiles and plenty of hippos are seen up and down the river and guests can also visit neighbouring fishing villages and travel further up the water towards Lake Malawi. Nature walks and trips to the local village (across the river outside the park) and biking are popular too.
