Classic Kenya Safari

This 6 night safari takes in the classic safari locations of Kenya using comfortable en-suite safari style tented rooms and good quality guiding. Includes all transfers start and finish Nairobi and can be taken at any time of the year.

Amboseli is home to thousands of elephants, made popular by natural history documentries such as 'Echo of the elephants' and is a beautiful park with far reaching plains, salt lakes and the magnificent backdrop of Kilimanjaro. The camp here is in a community owned conservancy where you can enjoy night drives and village walks as well as game drives. There is a lot of resident game around the camp as well as in Amboseli itself such as lion and giraffe.

Next stop, Samburu - in the northern district past Mount Kenya and is arid, dry bushland - harsh but beautiful. Home to the proud Samburu tribes people you can learn about their culture here and how they and the wildlife survive in this difficult environment. See a variety of species that have adapted to life in the thorn bush such as Gerenuk and Grevy's Zebra among many others.

Finally, on to the world famous Masai Mara. This game reserve at any time of year is home to many lion, cheetah, elephant and masses of plains animals. The busiest time here is 'migration season' which takes place July - October when the famed herds of wildebeeste move in from the Serengeti to feed on the plains of the Mara. Again, here you have the opporunity to mix with the Maasai tribes people as you stay in a community area on the edge of the Mara.

Pricing guidelines for Kenya

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £400 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Kenya combines well with Tanzania or Uganda.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:

  £50 to £150
