    About Sala's Camp

    • Close Panel

Sala's Camp lies within the Masai Mara National Reserve, the most famous reserve in Kenya. It is located in the centre of the wildebeest migration routes and lies in a shaded forest on the convergence of 2 rivers, with views towards the Northern Serengeti and Tanzania.

Between July and end of October, Sala's Camp is ideally located since many of the animals move back and forth from the Serengeti in search of lush grasslands in the Mara.  The game viewing at this time is exceptional with dramatic river crossings and the predators following them - you need to book a long way in advance to get space at this time!

Accommodation is in 7 en-suite tents, with double or twin beds. The bathrooms all have safari bucket hot showers and flush toilets. One of the tents also has a central sitting area making it ideal for a family or for a honeymmon couple.

Camp food is cooked in the traditional safari style using a camp fire. Home baked pastries, breads and biscuits are a speciality. Local and international dishes are offered.

Game viewing using 4-wheel drive vehicles offers the chance to spot the abunbant wildlife in the area. Birdwatchers will enjoy the range of birdlife in the local area. Visits to local Maasai villages can also be arranged.

    Pricing guidelines for Kenya

    • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £400 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Kenya combines well with Tanzania or Uganda.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
