    About Ol Donyo Wuas

    • Close Panel

Ol Donyo Wuas, on the slopes of the Chyulu Hills, has exclusive access to one of the few remaining wilderness areas in East Africa. Ol Donyo Wuas means 'spotted hills' in Masaai and is the name they gave to the Chyulu range, which runs between Amboseli and Tsavo National Parks.  This is considered to be one of the best horse riding destinations in Kenya with horses of different breeds to suit all standards of riders.

There are 7 individual thatched cottages grouped around a central dining room, which has an open fireplace. Each cottage has an en-suite bathroom and veranda with views of the hills and Mount Kilimajaro. 3 of the cottages have an extra bedroom so are ideal for families. There is an 8th cottage. The Hide, built on stilts overlooking the waterhole, perfect for honeymooners or guests wanting complete privacy.

Relax and enjoy the views of Kilimanjaro from the horizon swimming pool. Meals are served in the dining area where guests can meet and chat.

Activities offered include day and night game drives in open Land Rovers, guided walks, horse-riding for all standards of riders, bush breakfasts and dinners and visits to the Maasailand Preservation Trust projects.

    Pricing guidelines for Kenya

    • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £400 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Kenya combines well with Tanzania or Uganda.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
