About House of Waine

  • Close Panel
The House of Waine is a private house, owned and run by a Kenyan family and is situated in 2.5 acres of elegant and peaceful gardens in the quiet suburb of Karen.  This is a convenient and safe stop over, just 20 mins from Wilson (domestic) airport and 40 mins from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The hotel is of an extremely high standard, beautifully and uniquely furnished with all modern comforts but in a friendly relaxing atmosphere. There are 11 bedrooms all with individual style and themes, all are en-suite and most have a separate shower and bath.  Rooms are equipped with televisions, direct dial telephones, complimentary cold drinks and tea and coffee facilities, mini safe, complimentary pastries or cakes. There is the facility for internet connection in each room and the hotel will lend laptops for this purpose. One of the rooms is a huge suite with a large terrace.

In the gardens is a heated swimming pool and pool side bar, there is a light and airy breakfast room and additional private terrace room, full conference facilities and dining rooms that can be adjusted to suit any tailor made needs.

Close by, the area of Karen, is the Giraffe Centre, the Daphne Sheldrick Animal Orphanage, a large traditional crafts centre and many other shops, cafes and attractions.

As well as being a convenient overnight stop, it would be easy to fill a whole day here, the management at the House of Waine are incredibly welcoming and friendly.

Pricing guidelines for Kenya

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £400 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Kenya combines well with Tanzania or Uganda.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
