Hippo Point invites guests to relax and enjoy all that nature has to offer in this stunning location. At 6,200 feet above sea level on the shore of Lake Naivasha, this private wildlife sanctuary will be a home from home, as the Cunningham-Reid family offer to share their house with you. This is a nature lover's paradise with over 500 species of bird and some 1,100 animals.

Accommodation is in the main manor house and in the 8 storey Dodo's Tower. The manor house was built in the 1930s and extensively restored in 1998. There are 8 double rooms and 1 single, all furnished in fine colonial style. Dodo's Tower was built by Dodo Cunningham-Reid and has 4 double rooms and 1 single, making it ideal for families or groups of friends. The living space comprises a dining room, living room with balcony, kitchen, writing room, meditation room and the top view room. There are stunning views from the upper storeys of the tower.

Breakfast consists of fresh fruit juice, homemade muesli and freshly cooked eggs, while typical lunch dishes are salads, pasta and quiche, followed by homemade ice cream. Hippo Point has an organic vegetable garden and is supplied by free range meats and wild seafood.

Guests are welcome to be as active, or not, as they wish during their stay. Start the day with a stroll by the lakeside, a gentle jog, mountain bike ride or some yoga. Other activities incliude horse riding, hot air balloon rides, helicopter safaris and waterskiing. For those happy to take it easy there is a swimming pool and deck with sun loungers and hammocks in which to drift to doze in the warm sun. Guests can also get invvolved in current conservation projects within the grounds.

Treatments are taken in the open gazebo in the grounds, by the lake, around the pool or in the privacy of your own room. Enjoy gentle massages, re-engerise with yoga classes and benefit your body with healthy and nutritous foods. Pricing guidelines for Kenya

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £400 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Kenya combines well with Tanzania or Uganda.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
