Perched at the edge of Wadi Dana, the Dana Guest House has dramatic views over the gorge and Dana Nature Reserve. The building has been designed using local materials and incorporates traditional features. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and all face the wadi with magnificent views. The rooms do not have en-suite facilities, but there are clean communal toilets and showers. The guesthouse is famous for its excellent local food.
The guesthouse is operated by Jordan's Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature for the benefit of the local community, and is an important source of employment and education in the local region. The RSCN also operates a handicraft centre and locally produced goods as well as organically grown herbs and preserves are available in the guesthouse shop.
The guesthouse is located just a few minutes walk from the centre of the village of Dana. It is an ideal base for learning about the local community and exploring Dana National Reserve. It is also a great base for longer treks around the Reserve or to nearby Feynan Lodge.
