About Bundi Vilas

  • Close Panel

Bundi Vilas is an intimate hotel with just 7 rooms, friendly service and an excellent setting against the walls of Bundi Garh Palace. This is a welcome change of pace from the hustle and bustle of India's larger cities and a chance to get off the beaten track and meet local people.

This heritage property is a 300 year old haveli, or private mansion, which has been wonderfully restored and opened to guests in 2008. It is entered though a 40 foot stone archway, leading to the elegant building. The 7 guest rooms retail many orignal features and are decorated and furnished in traditional style, while incorporating modern comforts such as air conditioning and ensuite bathrooms.

Meals are taken on the rooftop terrace, where guests enjoy large breakfasts and romantic dinners, against the backdrop of the palace - floodlit at night - town and Aravali Hills plus Jait Sagar lake below. Service is friendly, discreet and polite.

Bundi is an old walled town, dominated by the rambling palace. Guests can walk down from Bundi Vilas via a winding alleyway to the maze of streets that make up the old town. There are havelis, temples, bazaars and markets to be explored and the local people are friendly and welcoming to visitors.

Pricing guidelines for India

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £450 to £700 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). India combines well with Nepal.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
