About Baghvan

  • Close Panel

Named after the Hindi for tiger - "bagh" and forest - "van", Baghvan is an enchanting lodge hidden in the forested buffer zone of Pench National Park, a short drive from the entrance to the park. The twelve suites are each housed in individual cottages, each with a bedroom, spacious bathroom, terrace and a "macham" or viewing platform. The rooms are decorated with an eclectic mixture of local crafts, giving a charmingly rustic character without sacrificing on comfort. The lodge has a swimming pool and library for relaxing. Breakfast and lunch are served on a covered platform overlooking a "nullah" or dry river valley, with dinners served indoors.

With staff trained by Taj Safaris and safari-experts & Beyond, the service and standard of guiding at Baghvan is first rate. Meals are freshly cooked from local ingredients, and include a mixture of local and international dishes. In addition to the morning and afternoon game drives, you can enjoy the sights and sounds of Madhya Pradesh with a walk around a local village and experience walking safaris in the nullah.

Pricing guidelines for India

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £450 to £700 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). India combines well with Nepal.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
