Indian Wildlife Tour

If you have a passion to see the very best wildlife in India then this trip is for you. We cover two distinctly different areas in this trip to give you a diverse view of India wildlife. In the northern state of Assam we visit Kazaringa National Park, known amongst other things for its population of one-horned rhinos. Then we move on to what is arguable India’s best tiger park –Kanha National Park. We should see an extraordinary biodiversity on this trip, including tigers and rhinos and a vast array of birdlife, deer, monkeys and reptiles to complete the range of India wildlife.

Local guide in Delhi; Local naturalist guides at Kanha and Kaziranga. All park entrance fees and activities. Overnight train journeys in first class air conditioned sleeper. Return flight from Delhi to Guwahati. All ground transport and transfers.

Return flights to Delhi. Approximate cost: £450 to £700 from the UK.

Is it for you?

This is an easy trip that does not require any particular special fitness. You stay in good hotels and jungle lodges and should find there is plenty of time for wildlife viewing. Due to the distances involved there is a lot of time spent travelling to the parks. Overnight trains in India add an extra dimension to your trip.

Best time

The best time for India wildlife is in the hotter months between March and June when animals are using regular watering spots. It can be very hot and if this is a problem for you then you should stick to the cooler months prior to this, when wildlife viewing is still extremely good. At Kanha It is cool from mid-October to the end of February and hot from the middle of April to middle of June. Kanha closes on 30th June for the monsoon season.

Pricing guidelines for India

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £450 to £700 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). India combines well with Nepal.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
