Kanha Earth Lodge is set in 16 acres of forest well away from other lodges but only a few miles from the entrance to Kanha National Park. The self contained bungalows are built in local tribal style but with modern amenities and comforts such as ensuite bathrooms and air conditioning.
The 12 bungalows are open fronted and all have a spacious veranda with views into the forest. They are rustic, built from local stone, wood and tiles, yet deluxe in decor and furnishing. The main lodge building houses the large dining hall, lounge, library/presentation room and shop. Meals are based on locally grown and sourced produce. Both Indian and international dishes are offered. The lodge works closely with local villages and manages a village garden scheme, which provides the lodge with many of its supplies. Lodge staff visit local village markets each week and guests are welcome to go along to these to experience local village life. Visits to local villages are also encouraged.
Kanha Earth Lodge offers early morning and late afternoon jeep safaris in Kanha National Park, home not just to tigers but to a wide varierty of animals including sambhar deer, wild dogs, jackals and langurs. Other activities available include nature walks, forest cycling and bird watching walks, all conducted by the lodge's naturalist guides. There are hides in the extensive grounds where guests can observe wildlife. After game viewing guests can relax on their own veranda with a cool drink or enjoy a swim in the infinity pool, with its views of the forest beyond.
