Tigers & Taj

If you’re keen on seeing tigers, there is no better trip than this. We take you to the two very best Indian parks, Kanha and Bandhavgarh.

However before that we will take you to see the Fatephur Sikri, and the iconic sight of Agra's Taj Mahal. It's best to see it either first thing in the morning or last thing at night - so we show you it at both times before heading south by train to see the tigers.

One of our recent clients said: “Our tiger experience was something that will stay with us for the rest of our lives”.  Of course nothing is guaranteed, but we know that currently these two parks offer the best chance of spotting these rare and magnificent creatures.

There is a special 2012 price for this itinerary (see below).  This price will be held for trips up to April 2013 if booked by May 2012.

Is it for you?

This is an easy trip with no special requirements, although you do have to be prepared for the heat if you go in April. This trip includes an overnight train ride which is not for everyone – we can arrange flights to Central India as an alternative if preferred.

Best time

October to April (though April is very hot) Kanha and Bandhavgarh National Parks close for the monsoon season (June to September). The peak time for seeing wildlife is February and March. December and January can be surprisingly cold in Central India, while April and May can be very hot and humid.

Getting there

We can arrange flights from the UK into Delhi and out of Nagpur (via Mumbai) with Jet Air with flights starting from around £650 per person.

Pricing guidelines for India

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £450 to £700 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). India combines well with Nepal.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
