About Tea Bungalow

  • Close Panel

Tea Bungalow was built in 1912 and has been lovingly restored to its colonial grandeur. It now welcomes guests to 10 spacious ensuite rooms with traditional features and modern amenities. It is set in large tranquil gardens, where guests can relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

The large guest rooms are all named after ports involved in the historic Spice Trade and all are individually designed and furnished to reflect their names. The exquisite furniture and artwork, polished wooden floors and comfortable beds contribute towards the feeling of luxury and indulgence. The bathrooms have the latest fixtures and fittings. Modern amenities include air conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities and safes. Towelling robes and slippers are provided.

Tea Bungalow's restaurant, Cafe du Mahe, serves Indian, Keralan and Continental cuisine. It has views of the lovely gardens. Al fresco dining is also an option and barbeques can be enjoyed on the pool deck. A complimentary breakfast and fruit basket is provided for all rooms. The Travancore Lounge has a library and a home theatre for guest use. There are wide verandas around the bungalow, ideal for sitting and admiring the gardens beyond.

The garden is an oasis of peace and quiet, perfect after a busy day exploring Kochi. There are chairs and sunshades allowing guests to enjoy the views and soothing atmosphere. There is a swimming pool and sundeck, complete with sunloungers.

Pricing guidelines for India

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £450 to £700 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). India combines well with Nepal.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
