    About Taj Lake Palace

    • Close Panel

Located in the middle of Lake Pichola, facing the city palace in Udaipur, the Lake Palace was built in the 1740s as a summer palace for the Maharaja Jagat Singh II. Constructed of white marble on a four acre island, the walls of the palace appears to float above the calm waters of the lake.

A private fast boat service connects the Lake Place with a jetty in the city palace, making access to the hotel quick and easy while ensuring complete privacy. The hotel boasts several restaurants as well as a bar, pool, spa and business centre, meaning you never have to leave. Most rooms have a view of the lake, either looking out on the city palace complex or the encircling Aruvali hills. All rooms are individually decorated and well equipped with all the amenities of a modern hotel.

    Pricing guidelines for India

    • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £450 to £700 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). India combines well with Nepal.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
