About Samode Safari Lodge

  • Close Panel

Samode Safari Lodge offers luxurious accommodation and excellent facilitirs in a lovely location at the edge of a forest a few minutes drive from Banghavgarh National Park. There are 12 individual cottages plus a main lodge and separate dining room. The facilities include a swimming pool and spa.

The cottages are spacious and superbly furnished. Traditional in style and design they are decorated in muted colours. A small central courtyard leads to the spacious sitting room, off which is the light and luxurious bedroom. There is a private veranda leading from the bedroom. The bathroom has a bathtub and shower and there is an additional outdoor bathroom with tub and shower. Modern touches have been incorporated such as plasma screen TVs, air conditioning, heating, electric blankets and tea and coffee making facilities. Bathrobes are provided. There is an unlimited supply of mineral water in each room.

The main building houses an art gallery, shop, library and internet room downstairs. Upstairs is the sitting room, with indoor and outdoor areas. Here guests can relax and chat, enjoy a book or game of cards, a cool drink and take in the magnificent views. The nearby waterhole attracts animal and birdlife especially in the early mornings and evenings.

The dining room is in a separate builing, linked to the main lodge by a wooden walkway. It is set on stilits to make the most of the views. Continental, Oriental and Indian food is served and can be enjoyed in the dining room, in the privacy of your own room or at a chosen location in the camp. Meals are generally served a la carte, but buffets are also popular. Alcoholic drinks are served at the lodge.

A typical day would start with an early morning game drive in Bandhavgarh, followed by breakfast at the lodge. The naturalist guide will discuss the day ahead then leave guests free to enjoy the pool and spa, maybe go walking or read in the library. It is also possible to visit nearby villages and take picnics at local beauty spots. In the late afternoon there will be another game drive in the park, followed by drinks and dinner.

Samode Safari Lodge has a heated swimming pool, a gym, a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi.

T3 Spa
The spa at Samode Safari Lodge offers a wide range of treatments aimed to relax and rejuvenate the body. These treatments are the perfect complementary activity to safaris. The spa building is set apart from the main lodge. It centres around a pretty courtyard, from which the treatment rooms radiate. Each room is light, airy and spotlessly clean. Treatments offered here include traditional Ayurvedic therapies such as Indian head and foot massage, European massage including Swedish deep tissue massage and aroma therapy and Oriental massage such as Balinese massage and foot reflexology. In addition, guests can enjoy pampering body wraps using ingredients such as French geen clay, green tean and honey plus body scrubs using Dead Sea salts followed by an almond body polish. The spa also provides a special signature massage and a T3 signature facial.

Pricing guidelines for India

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £450 to £700 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). India combines well with Nepal.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
