About Samode Palace

  • Close Panel

Samode Palace is one of India's finest heritage hotels, located on a hill overlooking the small town of Samode set in beautiful countryside. Just an hour's drive from Jaipur, Samode is an ideal introduction to rural Rajasthan and is an excellent addition to a tour of India's Golden Triangle.

The 150 year old palace is a magnificent example of Rajput-Mughal architecture and has been meticulously restored. The palace is a true labyrinth of corridors, stairways, terraces and courtyards. The spacious rooms with marble, mosaic floorings, high ceilings, cotton woven rugs "durries", antiques and beautifully carved four poster beds provide a sense of luxury. All have ensuite bathrooms, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and are air conditioned. There are deluxe rooms and larger deluxe suites with private balcony or patio, while the opulent royal suites also have a jacuzzi and their own courtyard. All rooms are tastefully decorated in palatial style.

There are 2 restaurants, serving a range of Indian and international cuisine. The new dining room specialises in a la carte dishes. Samode Palace has 2 swiimming pools - the large main pool, where snacks are served during the day, and the roof terrace pool. Guests are also welcome to relax in the library, sample treatments at the small spa or use the gym.

Samode Palace is an ideal base for exploring the old houses and winding streets of the attractive walled town of Samode, for strolling in the hills around the hotel and for experiencing the charm of rural India.

Pricing guidelines for India

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £450 to £700 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). India combines well with Nepal.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.

  • Example tripPrice per person
  • 1 week Golden Triangle holidayBetween £800 and £2000
  • 2 weeks in northern IndiaFrom about £1500+
  • 2 weeks in southern IndiaBetween £2000 and £3000
  • 11 day wildlife safari (including tigers)From about £1250+

No changes from last year and just looking as wonderful as ever.  It is the perfect country retreat for visiting the metropolis of Jaipur.  3 nights is advised here so one can spend a full day in Jaipur but also have enough time here as there is so much to do and it’s so sublime.  It’s worth remembering that the Royal Suites here (which are huge, glorious and have balconies and sitting rooms and include dinner in the rate) are the same price (possibly less now) as the Deluxe rooms at RajVilas.
