The Royal Palm is a unique secluded hideaway, nestled in the lush highlands of Santa Cruz island, in the heart of the Galapagos. It has been built in a manner that complements the environment, using local materials and handcrafted furniture. There are 10 Villas, 4 Veranda Studios, and 3 exquisite Suites. All are individually decorated, and contain jacuzzis, satellite TV, internet access, mini-bar, DVD, and CD players.

Best time

The Galapagos Islands are a year round destination, though it is warmer and wetter from December to May, and cooler and drier with some mist from June to November.

Pricing guidelines for Galapagos Islands

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights to Quito or Guayaquil will add from about £750 to £1000 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). You will also need internal flights from the mainland to the islands which cost about £275 to £350. A Galapagos National Park tax is payable on arrival - currently $100. A few yachts also offer shorter or longer cruises. Charter cruises are also available. Please ask for details.
