Galapagos Islands Cruise

If you simply want to get out to Ecuador and see the Galapagos Islands, but don't really have the time or inclination to see anything much of Ecuador's mainland, this is a very good itinerary for you.

It includes an 8-day cruise around the Galapagos Islands, with a couple of nights in Quito prior to the cruise and one night afterwards.

Since we tailor-make all our holidays, you can choose which yacht you like the look of, and where you might want to stay in Quito, and for how long.

Galapagos is a year round destination. June to September is the driest time to go to the Andean regions of Ecuador.

Itinerary

Duration: 11 days+/-

Day 1: Arrive in Quito. Met on arrival. Rest of the day free to acclimatise and explore.
Day 2: In Quito. A half day tour of the old town. Free afternoon.
Day 3: Fly to the Galapagos Islands for the start of your 8 day cruise. Actual itinerary on the islands depends on the yacht you choose.
Day 4: In the Galapagos Islands.
Day 5: In the Galapagos Islands.
Day 6: In the Galapagos Islands.
Day 7: In the Galapagos Islands.
Day 8: In the Galapagos Islands.
Day 9: In the Galapagos Islands.
Day 10: Your cruise ends and you fly back to Quito.
Day 11: Fly home.

Pricing guidelines for Galapagos Islands

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights to Quito or Guayaquil will add from about £950 to £1250 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). You will also need internal flights from the mainland to the islands which cost about £375 to £400. A Galapagos National Park tax is payable on arrival - currently $100. A few yachts also offer shorter or longer cruises. Charter cruises are also available. Please ask for details.
