Termas Papallacta Extension

Termas Papallacta Spa, Resort and Convention Center is located 40 miles east of Quito, at 3,300 metres elevation. Perched above a high Andean valley, Termas Papallacta is on the entrance route to the Ecuadorian Amazon jungle.

The Termas Papallacta resort, offers its visitors onsite health, recreation, adventure and rest. This includes bathing in the thermal springs, diverse treatments at the health spa, and accommodation in hotel rooms or cabins. Both options have thermal pools which are reserved exclusively for guests. There are two restaurants offering Ecuadorian and international cuisine, with many dishes using ingredients sourced from the Resorts’ organic garden.

The onsite spa offers a variety of treatments including hydrotherapy, finnish sauna and aromatherapy. Hiking opportunities abound, with a 625 acre private protected reserve, and the nearby Cayambe-Coca Ecological Reserve. On day 2 there will be an opportunity to hike the 'Water and Life Trail' through the Reserve. starting at over 4, 200 metres elevation and hiking down through the Reserve for about 6 hours, past Andean lakes, to the resort where a relaxing soak awaits!   White water rafting and mountain biking is also available if arranged in advance for an additional supplement.

Day 3 is at leisure to relax, enjoy the thermal baths and spa, and perhaps explore some of the local trails.

Pricing guidelines for Ecuador

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £750 to £1000 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Ecuador combines very well with Peru, but can also be linked with Brazil.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.

  • Example tripPrice per person
  • 2 weeks highlights of Ecuador’s mainland using good standard accommodationBetween £1800 and £2750
  • 2 week trip staying in top end haciendas and lodgesFrom around £3500+
  • 10 days Andes & rainforest holidayBetween £1200 and £1600
  • 16 days Andes & Galapagos (this can be very variable due to Galapagos yacht prices)From about £3200+
