Vieja Cuba offers comfortable accommodation in a central location in Quito, convenient for shops, restaurants and museums. The attractive, 3-storey colonial mansion has recently been renovated and now provides 26 guest rooms, a restaurant and snack bar.
All the rooms are attractively furnished and are equipped with en-suite bathroom, TV, 'phone and internet access. Rooms retain original features such as hardwood floors, wooden ceilings and beams and exposed brickwork. Walls are decorated in pastel shades offset by bright and colourful textiles. The larger suites have sitting areas or fireplaces.
The Orisha Restaurant specialises in Afro-Cuban cuisine (the owner is a Cuban immigrant), while the Fruta Fresca Coffee Bar is open 24 hours a day and as well as serving soft drinks, it offers a full bar service, light meals and snacks. This is also where breakfast is served, which can be a light continental affair or a full cooked meal.
The gardens are peaceful and include a courtyard with a fountain. This is a good place to escape the hustle and bustle of Quito.
