About Hacienda Rumiloma

  • Close Panel

Hacienda Rumiloma has been in the current family for over 60 years and they provide a warm welcome and homely atmosphere for their guests. The hacienda is set in 100 acres of gardens on the side of Pichincha Volcano, with wonderful views down to Quito in the valley below.

Accommodation is in spacious suites, each with bedroom, luxury bathroom and cosy sitting room. The decor and furnishing are traditional and complemented by Ecuadorian antiques and artwork. Each suite also has a terrace or an indoor garden where guests can relax in seclusion.

The main building houses the restuarant and inviting Irish/Ecuadorian pub - a great place to meet and chat to fellow guests before or after dinner. There are several sitting rooms furnished with comfy chairs and sofas and a private dining room for special occasions. The food at Rumiloma is a blend of local and internatioinal influences and there is a fine collection of wines from both South America and Europe to enhance the cuisine.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the gardens and fine views. The hacienda backs onto national park land and Andean forest, with various walking trails, a small river, grazing llamas and plentiful animal and bird life. As well as being a base from which to explore the city of Quito, guests at Hacienda Rumiloma can also enjoy the outdoor lifestyle. Going for hikes, rock climbing and enjoying sunrise llama treks are just some of the activities that can be arranged from the hacienda.

Pricing guidelines for Ecuador

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £750 to £1000 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Ecuador combines very well with Peru, but can also be linked with Brazil.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.

  • Example tripPrice per person
  • 2 weeks highlights of Ecuador’s mainland using good standard accommodationBetween £1800 and £2750
  • 2 week trip staying in top end haciendas and lodgesFrom around £3500+
  • 10 days Andes & rainforest holidayBetween £1200 and £1600
  • 16 days Andes & Galapagos (this can be very variable due to Galapagos yacht prices)From about £3200+
