Txai Resort is an eco resort set in 100 hecatres of coconut groves and lush rainforest with wonderful views of the beautiful beach and ocean. It is a blend of rustic simplicity, style and luxury and is a great place from which to explore the rainforest, beach and nearby town of Itacare,a 20 minute drive away. Alternatively, relax around onme of the pools, enjoy the spa treatments and soak up the relaxed atmosphere and superb ocean views.
There are 40 rooms, comprising 26 bungalows and 14 guest rooms, all offering simple but spacious accommodation. The bungalows have glass doors and picture windows to make the most of the wonderful views. They are air conditioned, have a double wash basins, flush toilet and outdoor shower. They also have a minibar, safe, king size bed with mosquito net, 'phone, CD player and open air bed for relaxation. Some also have an outdoor whirlpool bath or plunge pool. The outside deck is perfect for peaceful relaxation. The rooms are scattered throughout the gardens, so privacy is ensured. The rooms are set in a 3-storey building near the pool and have similar amenities to the bungalows. All rooms have indoor ensuite bathrooms.
Guests have a choice of dining options. The South Restaurant hs been built a traditional Bahian style with a high thatched roof while the North Restaurant is set near the beach. Meals are mainly Brazilian and the atmosphere is relaxed and informal. A couple of times a week fresh pizzar are baked in the large outdoor oven. Breakfast is a plentiful buffet with fruit, cakes, breads and juices. Eggs and pancakes can also be cooked to order. There are 4 bars in the resort, one in each of the two living rooms and one each at the north and the south swimming pools. The bars serve a refreshing range of fresh fruit juices as well as cocktails, wines, beers and spirits.
The resort arranges daily guided walks in the rainforest and beach trails. Guests can also explore the area by mountain bike or go horse riding. Other activities available include surfing, rafting and tennis - the resort has 2 tennis courts. At the resort itself there are 6 swimming pools. The main pool is 25 metres in length and has a shallow children's pool and sundeck with loungers and parasols. The spa is located at the top of the hill and offers an extensive range of beauty treatments, massages, facials, maincures and pedicures. Sauna and steam room sessions are also available, as are yoga and meditation classes. There are 2 living rooms, set in the colonial style mansion, where guests can mingle and relax, maybe enjoy a DVD in the private cinema, watch television or check the internet. There is a good collection of board games as well as books about Brazilian culture, the local flora and fauna. The hotel has a small boutique selling swimwear and holiday essentials.
