Sandwiched between the sea and the Atlantic Rainforest, this peaceful pousada is a wonderful retreat on stunning Ilha Grande.

Located on the edge of Abrao Village, it is well away from any noise of the village at the quiet end of the beach, providing a comfortable beach escape amid spectacular scenery just two hours from Rio. At the same time the village is within walking distance, convenient for restaurants, bars and other activities.

Guests can take boat trips to local islands, villages and beaches and explore the lush Atlantic rainforest behind the pousada but you'll find it hard to leave your room to explore this beautiful island, as each room has its own hammock and balcony with glorious sea views.

All pillars in the guesthouse are made from sustainable eucalyptus wood, rooms have an optimization system to avoid wasting energy and every stone found in the original terrain was preserved and included in the pousada.

Pricing guidelines for Brazil

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £700 to £900 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Brazil combines with Peru, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands due to scheduled flights, so, for example, it makes a good beach stop after Peru or Ecuador.
