About Casa do Amarelindo

  • Close Panel

Casa do Amarelindo is a splendidly restored 5-storey 19th century building in Pelourinho, the historical district of Salvador, a UNESCO World Cutlural Heritage Site. The hotel faces Baia de Todos os Santos (All Saints Bay) and is near a number of bars and restaurants. It also has easy access to local beaches and to the islands of Itaparica and Morro de Sao Paolo.

There are 10 guest rooms offering spacious accommodation and decorated to reflect the local Bahia culture. All have modern ensuite bathrooms with hydro massage bath or rainfall showers. The rooms are air conditioned and also have ceiling fans. Other facilities include a minibar, TV, DVD and CD players and free internet access. Most rooms have views of All Saints Bay and some also have a private terrace. The doors and windows are well insulated from the lively streets below, ensuring a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere.

Casa do Amarelindo is the only hotel in Pelourinho to have a swimming pool with views of All Saints Bay. Guests can relax here, sunbathe or rest beneath sunshades while enjoying views of the bay and the lower city. There is an indoor fitness centre for those craving more exercise. Drinks and snacks are served around the pool. The adjacent panoramic terrace also enjoys magnificent views and in the evening it doubles as a bar, serving cocktails against the background of colourful sunsets. The main bar is located downstairs in the 2 cool interior patios. As well as a range of drinks, the bar serves delicious Brazilian tapas. The restaurant specialises in local dishes, using freshly caught fish and seafood and meals can be taken indoors or out on the terrace. There is a good choice of wines, mainly from South American countries. Breakfast can be enjoyed in various parts of the hotel, including the terrace, pool or in your room. It consists of fresh fruit and juices, coffee, tea and hot chocolate, dairy products and a cooked meal.

Pricing guidelines for Brazil

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £700 to £900 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Brazil combines with Peru, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands due to scheduled flights, so, for example, it makes a good beach stop after Peru or Ecuador.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
