    About Asalem

    • Close Panel

Asalem is set in the beautiful Bay of Agraao on Ilha Grande, a 2-hour drive from Rio de Janeiro. The island is an unspoiled paradise with jungle, mountains, waterfalls and stunning beaches. Asalem's accommodation comprises 4 comfortable suites, all with views over the bay. The suites have a spacious downstairs lounge with glass doors opening out onto a terrace. The bedrooms are located on the upper floor ensuring complete privacy. Cuisine is based on fresh, local ingredients, including seafood. Beer, wine and speciality cocktails are all available to guests as are fresh fruits.

Guests staying here can explore the island's jungle interior and beautiful coast, take a boat ride to Saco de Ceu ('Sky Bay') and visit the nearby village of Abraao, with its shops, restaurants and cafes. Further afield is Dois Rios village with its lovely beach and the remains of 'The Devil's Cauldron', one of Brazil's most notorious prisons, closed in 1994 and now a fascinating place to visit.

    Pricing guidelines for Brazil

    • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £700 to £900 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Brazil combines with Peru, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands due to scheduled flights, so, for example, it makes a good beach stop after Peru or Ecuador.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
