Rising 400 metres above the dry Kalahari landscape sits Tsodilo which has one of African's richest collectios of San Rock Art with over 3500 individual paintings.
For the San an Bantu people, these hills have always been a magical place, the 'home of very old great spirits'. People have lived in this area for about 30,000 years and historically the San Bush people were the inhabitants leaving their paintings as a legacy on the walls of the hills.
The Tsodilo Hills are an amazing place and an important national monument to Botswana, now protected by being a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
There are lots of beliefs about specific places in the hills and well worth having a local guide here to get the most out of your visit.
