About Moremi Crossing

  • Close Panel

A classic tented camp in the heart of the Okavango's waterways, Moremi Crossing offers great value for money in a very scenic part of the region and is just a 20 minute scenic flight from Maun.

On a small palm fringed island called Ntswi which is near the southern part of Cheif's Island, Moremi Crossing is surrounded by game rich seasonal floodplains. it's sister camp is Gunns Camp, also on the edge of Chief's Island.

Wonderful views over the waterways and floodplains across to Moremi are interspersed with grasses and woodland can be enjoyed from the camp.

There are 16 traditional style large safari tents, all having it's own private viewing deck and lovely tranquil views over the Boro River to Cheif's Island. All the tents are airy and have an en-suite bathroom which includes a large shower area.

A central lounge bar and dining area is half moon shaped and built on differing levels to give a feeling of space and wide ranging views. It is covered by a large thatched roof and there are smaller private lounging areas for comfort and privacy. There is a shaded deck and small pool.

Activities here area focused on the water with boating being the main attraction. Walking on the islands can also be arranged weather and safety permitting. Mokoro trips can be taken either half or full day and bush picnics arranged. Motor boat trips, particularly at sundown, are very enjoyable.

If you want an adventure it is possible to pack up camping equipment and head out with a professional guide for a night wild bush camping.

Being a water based camp the birding here is excellent. But on walks, large mammals are often seen too and those living in the area around the camp include lion, leopard, giraffe, zebra, elephant, buffalo, wild dog and red lechwe, amongst others.

Moremi Crossing is an excellent choice for eco-friendly camp and has the latest style of solar power and waste disposal.

Pricing guidelines for Botswana

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £700 to £1000 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Botswana combines well with Zambia and South Africa.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
