About Duba Plains

  • Close Panel

Duba Plains is a 6 tent camp situated in a private game reserve in a remote area of the Okavango Delta. The camp is set on an island amongst tall ebony and fig trees and surrounded by expansive floodplains and grasslands.

The spacious tents all have en-suite bathrooms with flush toilet and outside showers. Each has its own veranda overlooking the floodplains. The lounge and dining areas are set under thatch and raised off the ground. There is a plunge pool and a large deck area where guests can relax.

Activities offered include day and night game drives in open 4x4 vehicles and boating. The area is known for its plentiful wildlife and there are opportunities to see lions, buffalos, elephants, cheetahs, wildebeest and hippos. There is also abundant bird life.

Pricing guidelines for Botswana

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £700 to £1000 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Botswana combines well with Zambia and South Africa.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:

If you are going here for the wildlife, then it's a fabulous spot - the famous interactions between the lion and the huge buffalo herds are world famous and even better in real life!  However, for me the accommodation itself feels very 'branded' (as it IS a Wilderness brand).  The level of luxury seems somewhat out of place in the bush, but if you do like all mod cons and his and hers basins and quite a 'manicured' style of camp management, then go for it!  Make sure you get your guide to find the buffalo, the numbers are simply unreal.
