Kubu Lodge is a small, privately owned lodge set on the banks of the Chobe River, just a short distance from Chobe National Park. The ensuite chalets offer spacious and comfortable accommodation and there is a range of activities to keep guests busy.
There are just 11 chalets, all set on raised platforms under the shade of giant ebony and wild fig trees, with views of the Chobe River. All have ensuite bathrooms with shower, flush toilet and hand basin. The ceiling fans help keep the thatched chalets cool during the day. Other modern conveniences include tea and coffee making facilities, mosquito nets and hairdryers.
Kubu Lodge offers game drives and boat cruises in the national park to view the abundant wildlife, including the famous Chobe elephants. There is a 2 kilometre nature trail in the lodge grounds, which guests can explore at their leisure, maybe catching sight of moongoose and bushbuck. The lodge can arrange an evening sundowner cruise to the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers, an experience not to be missed. Victoria Falls is just an hour's drive away and can be visited as a day trip from the lodge.
When not busy, guests can relax at the lodge, enjoying a refreshing swim in the pool or browsing through a book in the summerhouse library. There is a gift shop selling souvenirs.
The restaurant serves food that is a fusion of Africa and European styles. It has an elevated position with marvellous views of the river. Meals can be taken inside or out on the wooden terrace. There is a also a private boma for quiet, romantic and celebration dinners.
