About Zarafa Camp

  • Close Panel

Zarafa Camp was re-branded and re-furbished in December 2008 and is now a luxurious and intimate safari camp.

It is set on a palm island in the Selinda Reserve in northern Botswana, part of the huge Linyanti Concession. Nearby is Zibadianja Lagoon, the source of the famous Savuti channel. This beautiful area is characterised by extensive floodplain savannah with occassional palm studded islands.

The camp is constructed using as much as possible recycled and locally sourced materials. There are just four enormous meru style tents set on raised platforms and with en-suite bathrooms with shower and bath tub and flush toilet and hot and cold water. They also have plunge pools on the decks for cooling down in hot weather.

The central lounge and dining area is stunningly decorated using traditional safari artifacts and warm colours. Meals are taken inside or out, depending on the weather.

There is a wealth of animals to see in the reserve including elephant, lion, cheetah, leopard and wild dog plus abundant birdlife. There are day and night game drives and guided walks of varying durations. There are opportunities for canoeing and cruising on HES Zib, the camp's lovely floating pontoon boat, Hiking and bird watching are also popular activities in this region.

The perfect camp for a luxurious very special safari.

Pricing guidelines for Botswana

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £700 to £1000 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Botswana combines well with Zambia and South Africa.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
