Susuwe Island Lodge lies within the spectacular Bwabwata National Park in northeastern Namibia, near the border with Botswana. The lodge is shaded by tall trees and overlooks the fertile river floodplains.
There are just six personally attended suites all overlooking the Kwando River, so guests are assured of privacy and comfort. These spacious suites are constructed of brick and thatch. All have double bedrooms and a bathroom with window-height tub. They also have a lounge and a private deck with plunge pool.
The main complex facilities at Susuwe Island Lodge include lounge and dining areas, a reference library, a curio shop, fire pit and a double level viewing deck built into the forest canopy. The lodge offers excellent cuisine, usually served in the open air under the baobab canopy.
Game drives are in open 4x4 vehicles and there and night drives are also offered. The Susuwe concession and neighbouring Kwando area is one of the largest unfenced wilderness areas in southern Africa and offers great game viewing opportunties. Guided walks and boat trips are also available to guests.
