Macatoo Camp is situated on the western side of the Okavango Delta. The main activity offered here is horseback safari. The riding terrain from the camp is scenically varied in all directions.
Accommodation is in 6 large, walk-in, twin bedded tents, each with their own en-suite shower and toilet. Centrally there is a large furnished mess tent and tucked away is a private pool. As well as the horseback safaris the camp also offers game drives, helicopter rides, bird walks, night drives, seasonal boating, canoeing and fishing.
On the horseback safaris, riders generally spend 4 to 6-hours a day in the saddle. The group is usually no larger than 7 guests. On the longer safaris guests have the thrill of riding out to a mobile fly-camp. Riders need to feel confident about keeping up with the group, capable of riding at all paces; rising to the trot and controlling their horse at the canter. They may be required to gallop out of trouble, so these are not safaris for beginners. The minimum age for the horseback safari is 12 years, and any riders over 60 will need to be fit and stong.
