About Kanana Camp

  • Close Panel

Kanana Camp is located in the remote inner reaches of the Okavango Delta. The 8 deluxe luxury style tents, accommodating up to 16 guests, are built on stilts to ensure a good view of the floodplains for all guests. All have ensuite bathrooms. The tents are spaced well apart, enusring privacy. The common facilities of the camp are also built up on stilts overlooking these floodplains, with the dining and lounge areas on raised decking built around a massive ancient fig tree. In the evenings there is also an inviting camp fire set by the water's edge. Fresh bread is baked daily and fresh local produce is used in the cooking. The camp also has a well stocked bar, a swimming pool and a gift gallery.

The area is a good for exploring on foot and by mokoro - both excellent ways to see game. Game viewing in 4x4 vehicles and powerboats is also popular. Animals guests can expect to see here include elephant, impala, lechwe, hippo, crocodile and lion. Kanana camp is one of the few camps in the Okavango Delta to have an exclusive heronry where many migratory water birds come to have their young from July onwards. This is a good area for bird watching and is a world heritage birding site.

Pricing guidelines for Botswana

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £700 to £1000 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Botswana combines well with Zambia and South Africa.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
