Haina Safari Lodge offers luxury accommodation in the Central Kalahari, bordering the north of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, the second largest national park in the world. With accommodation for a maximum of just 20 guests, the atmosphere is relaxed and informal. The spacious tents all have ensuite shower or bathroom and private decks where guests can relax and enjoy views of the open plains. The central area consists of a lounge, dining room and bar, cool under thatch.

Luxury tents have double or twin beds and a shower in the bathroom, superior luxury have king size or twin beds and a bath and shower. All rooms are decorated in subtle earthy tones and have facilities for tea and coffee, a safe, and bath robes. There is a plunge pool 5 x 3 metres.

Game Drives, in open vehicles, are led by an experienced guide and bushman tracker and are offered at sunrise and sunset. Evening sundowners are served with the sun setting over the Kalahari. Preferences of the guests are taken into consideration on game drives with normal duration of 2 hours. Departure times normally 8am and 4pm. Night game drives can be taken after dinner at 9pm.

Haina Safari Lodge is located in close proximity to the ancient mecca of the Bushmen that inhabited the area about 6 000 years ago. Haina is home to a group of Bushmen, who are free to continue their nomadic life or join the experienced staff at Haina. They will share with you how they go about their daily lives, how they search for roots and plants to live on, how to make a fire and do a rain dance.

It is possible to hire a quadbike and accompany the resident ranger on a bushtrail. Alternatively guests can relax on the sun deck and cool off in the swimming pool. In the evening watch game gather around the waterhole as you enjoy a sundowner, chat about the day's game viewing and look forward to the next day's activities.

Pricing guidelines for Botswana

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £700 to £1000 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Botswana combines well with Zambia and South Africa.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
