YOUR GUIDE TO AFRICAN SAFARIS

Types of African Safari

African safari holidays are a fabulous experience for all ages.  Tribes would love to help you plan the very best itinerary, which is not necessarily as easy as it sounds, as there is such a choice and variety of the type of safari you can take in Africa.
For example, you can choose from :

  • classic African safaris in luxury lodges
  • safaris using tented camps
  • fly-in safari
  • family safari holidays
  • small group safaris
  • mobile camping safaris
  • walking safaris
  • canoeing safaris
  • Take your children on an African safari holiday
  • jeep safaris
  • horseback safaris
  • special interest safaris - birdwatching, photography, botany ...

Website information

This website gives you information about the countries where you can take  excellent African safaris (see links left), with maps, photos and also itinerary ideas (with day by day itinerary, photos etc). You can use this site as a starting point for researching your safari, including requesting a Trip Planner for any country we offer.

Personal Tailor Made Service

You can give our African safari team a call for personal advice on the areas, accommodation and experiences which might suit you.  Our staff have been to the places you are looking at so can give you first hand knowledge of the right places to suit your choice of time of year, particular animals you would like to see, the type of accommodation that would suit you best, etc. We work on a tailor made basis and will need to know some basic information from you so that we can suggest the right experience for what you are looking for.

Booking a tailor made holiday is all about getting what you want  - the right holiday, at the right time, in the right place.  Most often this means that we arrange a safari holiday specifically for you, with your own private driver/guide.  However if you want to join a small group holiday, we can often arrange this for you too in some countries.  Sometimes you may find that you end up going to an area you hadn't even known about, since perhaps the area you had in mind is not ideal at the time of year you're able to travel.

Her personal favourite countries include Malawi and Zambia.

She spent her time travelling throughout East and Southern Africa, much of this time as a tour leader. Her years in Africa included spending time as a lodge manager in Kenya's Masai Mara, years as a tour leader and 3 years working in Cape Town in a lodge and travel centre.  She has a passion for Uganda and loves the people and scenery there, but has a wide and enthusiastic knowledge about all countries from Uganda down to South Africa.
