At first it looks like something only the very sporty and brave will do. Ropes and swing bridges go from tree to tree, and you’re supposed to use these to head through the forest up in the trees.
You are given all the safety equipment you need (helmet, ropes, straps …) and some very capable people are with you at each stage to clip you on to ropes before you whizz between the trees.
It’s great fun – whatever age you are! Yes, you need to be relatively steady on your feet for going across rope bridges, but other than that there is no special fitness required to do this. If you have children, send them – but make sure you go too. It must be good for our inner child!
Tsitsikamma is one of the best places to do this. It's at Storms River Village, just under an hour from Plettenberg Bay.
You can do this at any time of the year though it would be less pleasant in the rain!
Simply organise this locally when you are in Tsitsikamma or nearby. All of the local lodges will know about where to do this and can help you book this at a time to suit you. If you prefer we can book this for you in advance if you're sure you want to do it.
